We have spent a good deal of time in the kitchen in the last few weekends, making all manner of unholy carbs (soft pretzel bites, banana bread, Scottish scones), and lots of baby food to freeze for CT. I love spending time in the kitchen, and I feel like it is the home base for family tradition.
I would love to have box full of recipes to hand down someday. Currently my recent recipes are scattered through my to-do list notebook (I would post a picture, but it is pitiful, and not worthy next to the inspiring photos below). I have been writing down everything we have tried on Pinterest (Tip I learned: Don't forget to title the recipes so you can tell one from another when you flip back through the pages -- d'oh!). Someday I will organize all of the recipes I have, hopefully using beautiful cards and a beautiful recipe box, worthy of tradition.
There are so many talented people in this world and they inspire me daily. Here are some of the things from around the web that put a smile on my face:
These cards by Katie Kouture on Etsy are fun, colorful, and pretty, all wrapped into one.
I do love a little whimsy, and these polka dot cards by Kayden Ashley on Etsy are so sweet, especially for sharing recipes.
While I do a pretty good job of cleaning up the kichen after monster cooking sessions, my clothes don't usually end up so lucky, especially if there is cocoa powder involved. I think this lady-like apron from Lemon String on Etsy would be just the ticket!
